with this update of BwPostman there are two new functions beneath a couple of improvements and bug fixes.

New

• The "read more link" at the newsletter now uses search engine friendly URLs.
• There is a new plugin UserAccount, which ensures. that BwPostman realizes, if a subscriber creates an account at the website afterwards, but also, if an account at the website is deleted.

Improvements

• While "Restoring" and also at "Check and Repair" tables the default value of table columns now will be checked and repaired a better way.
• The link for editing the subscription now also will be shown at registration form of the front end, if there is no public selectable mailing list.
• At the list of newsletters at front end the width of the selection lists is defined more clearly to look better.
• At update of BwPostman now also the user ID of the subscriber will be aligned to Joomla!. If an user had an account, but BwPostman did not know of that, problems occurred at editing the subscription.

Bugfixes

• Imported newsletter templates must not have a state default to prevent multiple default templates. Now that is ensured.
• If there is no selectable mailing list at registration at front end, then the look of this page got confused.
• Some JavaScript now only loads, if at least one mailing list is selectable at registration form at front end, to prevent JavaScript errors.
• The module for registration showed the registration form instead of the link to edit the subscription, if a subscriber was logged in.

Finally as usual my call for support:

Do You perhaps use BwPostman in another language? Or would You do so? Translators are always welcome! Meanwhile there is a project BwPostman at Transifex and now it is easier than ever to help translating. You only need an account at Transifex. Then I am able to invite You to the team. If You already have an account at Transifex, the You are able to ask directly for acceptance to the team for one or more languages.

I would illustrate the manual of BwPostman (PDF and web), because a picture paints a thousand words. But that is a lot of work and really not my core competence, to put it mildly. Here each help is more than welcome!

Perhaps You feel called on helping my tester and me? You have ideas to usability? Or new proposals, how to improve BwPostman? Just give it to me! By thread in the forum, preferably at the bug tracker https://bugtracking.boldt-webservice.de/ or by Mail. I don't only understand German, but English also, but that's it.

mit diesem Update von BwPostman gibt es neben einer Reihe von Verbesserungen und Fehlerbereinigungen auch zwei neue Funktionen.

Neu

• Im Newsletter werden nun Suchmaschinen-freundliche URLs für den Weiterlesen-Link angezeigt.
• Es gibt ein neues Plugin UserAccount, das dafür sorgt, dass BwPostman mit bekommt, wenn ein Abonnent erst später einen Account auf der Webseite anlegt, aber auch, wenn ein Account auf der Webseite gelöscht wird.

Verbesserungen

• Beim "Wiederherstellen" oder auch beim "Prüfen und Reparieren" der Tabellen wird der Standardwert der Tabellenspalten nun besser geprüft und gegebenenfalls repariert.
• Der Link zum Bearbeiten des Abonnements wird auf der Registrieren-Seite im Frontend nun auch angezeigt, wenn keine Mailingliste öffentlich wählbar ist.
• In der Übersicht der Newsletter im Frontend ist die Breite der Auswahllisten nun sauberer definiert, so dass sie auch hübsch aussehen.
• Beim Update von BwPostman wird nun auch die User-ID des Abonnenten mit Joomla! abgeglichen. Wenn ein User einen Account auf der Webseite hatte, BwPostman das aber nicht wusste, gab es Probleme beim Bearbeiten des Abonnements.

Bugfixes

• Importierte Newsletter-Templates dürfen keinen Status Standard haben, damit es keine mehrfachen Standard-Templates gibt. Das wird nun sicher gestellt.
• Wenn bei der Registrierung im Frontend keine Mailingliste auswählbar ist, dann kam die Optik dieser Seite durcheinander.
• Manches Javascript wird nun erst geladen, wenn zumindest eine Mailingliste bei der Registrierung im Frontend vorhanden ist, um Javascript-Fehler zu vermeiden.
• Das Modul zur Registrierung zeigte statt des Links zum Bearbeiten des Abonnements die Registrierung an, wenn ein Abonnent eingeloggt ist.

Und wie gewohnt hier noch mein Hilfeaufruf:

Verwendest Du BwPostman vielleicht in einer anderen Sprache? Oder würdest es gerne? Übersetzer sind jedenfalls immer gerne gesehen! Da es BwPostman jetzt auch bei Transifex gibt, ist es noch einfacher geworden mitzuhelfen. Du benötigt dazu nur einen Account bei Transifex. Dann kann ich Dich ins Team einladen. Wenn Du schon einen  Account bei Transifex hast, dann kannst Du auch direkt die Aufnahme ins Team für eine oder mehrere Sprachen anfragen.

Ich hätte auch gerne Bilder im Handbuch zu BwPostman (PDF und Web), denn ein Bild sagt bekanntlich mehr als tausend Worte. Aber das ist eine Menge Arbeit und nicht so meine Kern-Kompetenz, um es gelinde auszudrücken. Hier ist mir jede Hilfe mehr als willkommen!

Vielleicht fühlst Du dich ja berufen, meinem Tester und mir ein wenig unter die Arme zu greifen?  Hast Du Ideen zur Usability, also der Bedienbarkeit? Oder neue Vorschläge, wie man BwPostman noch weiter verbessern kann? Nur her damit!
