Hello [FIRSTNAME],

 and yet again something to read from me. Because Joomla!^® 3.5.1 has caused some surprises:

• Sending of newsletters did not work after update to Joomla!^® 3.5.1. With the new 1.3.1 of BwPostman it works again.
• After update to Joomla!^® 3.5.1 php has generated warnings at creating and editing newsletters and campaigns. Now not more.
• At update of BwPostman the access rights were not properly processed. Also this is corrected.
• Meanwhile I have inserted triggers for the plug-in at that positions at the code, which shall be responsible for the enhanced personalization. With this an update of the component of BwPostman will be hopefully superfluous, when the plug-in is ready.

What's next at my to-do list?

There some things have changed. I have done some research, who after all supports Joomla!^® 3 native. There it looks really meager, I have found nothing at all. But I found rumours, that even the core team of Joomla!^® this has put to backwater. Also I will do so. But nevertheless refactoring is waiting to be dealt with, in this case without native support.

• The access system of BwPostman will be revised. This means, that I will provide predefined user groups, which are fitted thereon. If You will use it is Yours. As webmaster You have the rights of the Superuser and this won't be cut naturally.
• Next waiting to be dealt with is a great refactoring to improve the automated testability of BwPostman, so that nothing may be overlooked or forgotten while testing. Besides this it will simplify the work at development a good piece and the code will be more readable.
• I want to optimize the error handling, for that such surprises like with the update to Joomla!^® 3.5.1 will not arise again, as fas as possible.
• The plug-in, with which You are able to write automated male or female format to the newsletter, according to the selected gender of the subscriber, shall come soon.

The appointment for the next planned version remains at end of September 2016. Perhaps the plugin comes earlier, because that will be very useful with the actual version also. Needless to say, that You will be informed by this newsletter.

Finally an usual my call for support:

I would illustrate the manual of BwPostman (PDF and web), because a picture paints a thousand words. But that is a lot of work and really not my core competence, to put it mildly. Here each help is more than welcome!

Perhaps You fell called on helping my tester and me? You have ideas to usability? Or new proposals, how to improve BwPostman? Just give it to me! By thread in the forum, preferably at the bug tracker http://bugtracking.boldt-webservice.de/. or by Mail. I don't only understand German, but English also, but that's it.

 und schon wieder gibt es etwas von mir zu lesen.  Denn Joomla!^® 3.5.1 hat mir ein paar Überraschungen geboten:

• Das Versenden der Newsletter hat nach dem Update auf Joomla!^® 3.5.1 nicht mehr funktioniert. Mit der neuen 1.3.1 von BwPostman geht es wieder.
• Nach dem Update auf Joomla!^® 3.5.1 hat php beim Erstellen und Bearbeiten von Newslettern und Kampagnen Warnungen ausgegeben. Jetzt nicht mehr.
• Beim Update von BwPostman wurden die Berechtigungen der einzelnen Tabellen nicht richtig verarbeitet. Auch das ist korrigiert.
• Mittlerweile habe ich auch Trigger für das Plugin an den Stellen im Code eingefügt, die für die erweiterte Personalisierung zuständig sein sollen. Damit erübrigt sich hoffentlich ein Update der Komponente von BwPostman, wenn das Plugin fertig ist.

Was steht als nächstes auf meiner ToDo-Liste?

Das hat sich etwas geändert, denn ich habe etwas recherchiert, wer denn Joomla!^® 3 native überhaupt unterstützt. Da sieht es aber ziemlich mau aus, ich habe keine Erweiterung gefunden. Dafür Gerüchte, dass selbst das Core-Team von Joomla!^® das aufs Abstellgleis geschoben hat. Also mache ich das auch. Aber das Refactoring steht trotzdem an, dann eben ohne die native Unterstützung.

• Das Rechtesystem von BwPostman wird überarbeitet werden. Das bedeutet, dass ich auch gleich vorgefertigte Benutzergruppen mitliefern werde, die daran angepasst sind. Ob Du das nutzen willst, bleibt Dir überlassen. Als Webmaster hast Du ja Superuser-Rechte und den beschneide ich natürlich nicht.
• Dann steht ein großes Refactoring an, um die automatisierte Testbarkeit von BwPostman verbessern, damit beim Testen nichts übersehen oder vergessen werden kann. Außerdem macht mir das die Arbeit beim Entwickeln doch ein gutes Stück einfacher und der Code wird lesbarer.
• Ich möchte die Fehlerbehandlung optimieren, damit eine solche Überraschung wie jetzt beim auf Joomla!^® 3.5.1 möglichst nicht mehr vorkommen.
• Das Plugin, mit dem man automatisch die männliche oder weibliche Form in den Newsletter schreiben kann, je nachdem, ob männlich oder weiblich beim Abonnenten gewählt ist, soll recht bald erscheinen.

Der Termin für die nächste geplante Version bleibt bei Ende September 2016. Vielleicht kommt das Plugin auch schon früher, denn das kann man ja auch in der aktuellen Version schon sehr gut brauchen. Das wirst Du natürlich über diesen Newsletter erfahren.

Und wie gewohnt hier noch mein Hilfeaufruf:

Ich hätte auch gerne Bilder im Handbuch zu BwPostman (PDF und Web), denn ein Bild sagt bekanntlich mehr als tausend Worte. Aber das ist eine Menge Arbeit und nicht so meine Kern-Kompetenz, um es gelinde auszudrücken. Hier ist mir jede Hilfe mehr als willkommen!

Vielleicht fühlst Du dich ja berufen, meinem Tester und mir ein wenig unter die Arme zu greifen?  Hast Du Ideen zur Usability, also der Bedienbarkeit? Oder neue Vorschläge, wie man BwPostman noch weiter verbessern kann? Nur her damit! Ich verstehe nicht nur deutsch, sondern auch englisch, mehr aber auch nicht.
